One of those employees is Michael Glynn, who recently rejoined ENTRUST as Vice President of Business Development.
Early Career and Inspiration
Michael’s interest in energy started early. While in college, he worked as a co-op student for a renewable developer, writing grant applications and learning the complexities of the industry. His father, who built a career in the energy sector, had always emphasized the importance of reliable power with the phrase, “you can’t do anything without electricity.” That perspective stayed with Michael and motivated him to pursue a career that would play an essential role in everyday life and the future of global infrastructure.
Professional Journey
Michael went on to build a career rooted in sales and business development, working across diverse corners of the energy landscape. He represented major OEMs, sold equipment and SAAS solutions, and gained exposure to commodities markets and professional services. These roles gave him a strong understanding of both the technical demands of the industry and the importance of building long-term client relationships.
Michael’s path has also included meaningful time at ENTRUST, where he gained firsthand experience working alongside engineers and supporting complex client projects. That earlier tenure with the company provided him with insight into ENTRUST’s culture and capabilities, an experience that ultimately helped draw him back.
Returning to ENTRUST
Michael first joined ENTRUST nearly six years ago. After a period of exploring new opportunities, he returned two months ago, motivated by the chance to focus on power generation during a pivotal moment in the industry.
“The opportunity to be focused on power generation with the current market conditions for this part of the energy industry,” Michael explained, was the driving force behind his decision to return.
For Michael, the energy transition represents one of the most pressing challenges of our time, and one that requires skilled teams, innovative solutions, and a collaborative approach. Returning gave him the chance to be part of a company uniquely positioned to make a difference.
Current Role and Impact
Today, Michael serves as Vice President of Business Development, with a focus on power generation, transmission planning, and complex projects. His role involves collaborating closely with ENTRUST engineers on initiatives at power plants, data centers, and renewable development sites.
Michael describes ENTRUST as “a group of hardworking professionals dedicated to supporting client goals and each other.” He emphasizes the culture of creativity and collaboration that not only drives success for clients but also creates a rewarding environment for employees.
What He Values Most
Since rejoining, Michael has felt a strong sense of belonging. “The power generation team is a tight-knit family inside of the overall ENTRUST family,” he said. “It has been great getting embedded with that team and experiencing their full embrace of my support. Outside of power generation, it has been great to reconnect with colleagues I worked closely with in the past.”
This sense of connection, both to the work and to his colleagues, has reinforced Michael’s belief that ENTRUST is a place where professionals can thrive, contribute meaningfully, and grow.
Looking Ahead
Michael is optimistic about the future, both for ENTRUST and for the industry as a whole. “The sky is the limit here as we continue to grow organically and inorganically.
